The common Marklin Z 9V battery controllers major disadvantage is, no speed adjustment. The trains are running forward or backward with very high speed until the battery looses
its power. The new Zthek snail-speed controller provides very fine speed adjustment and many other features.
The optimized "pulse" output of this controller provides smoother slow speed operations than most commercially available controllers.

The fastest Marklin Z #88051 0-6-0 steam locomotive is capable to move
as slow as 1 inch / minute (1/5 mile
per hour scale speed!!!). This smooth slow speed operation opens new opportunities, like realistic switching operations. This new controller is highly recommended for the built variations of SW-1 switcher kits.
Features:
 -Extremely slow speed operation
 -Smooth acceleration and braking
 -Heavy duty directional switch, off
  position conserves battery
 -Automatic overload / short protection
  with red LED indicator
-Works with standard 9V battery (not
  included)
 -One year unconditional warranty

The New Universal controller

This electronic flashing circuit was developed for adding realistic light effects to any Z-scale layout. Special features include a "spinning like" effect by the offset, delayed timing, while the
incremental powering of light bulbs helps to extend their life span.
The set includes the choice of blue, red or amber colored light bulb with
special connectors.
The  2 1/2" wide x 3 1/2" long x 1" high
durable ABS housing incorporates a 9V
battery compartment, and a 2.1 mm
standard socket for the power supply.
When the power supply plugged in, the
battery is disconnected. The controller available with or without power supply.

The reed switch turned on by moving magnet is one of the easiest solution
to add automatic features to new and already built layouts. No special tracks required, they can be installed almost anywhere, the possibilities are endless. The commonly available miniature magnets and reed switches are too big for Z-scale operations.
This kit  is the perfect solution to the problem. The magnet is only 1 mm thick and perfectly fit over the head of typical Marklin screws.

The reed is 1.75 mm dia. x 9 mm long. For comparison, the sub-miniature
reed is at the left,  the commonly available 14 mm long reed at the
right side of picture.

The kit includes (4) glass sub-miniature reed switches and (4) magnets. Perfect
components to trigger various relays and circuits for Z-scale automatic operations.
